Hulk, introduced: "I'm going to do my best"
Brazilian striker Givanildo Vieira de Souza, known as 'Hulk', praised Ronaldinho Gaúcho on Friday when he presented him as a new Atlético Mineiro player, where he hopes to "learn a lot" from Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli.
"Ronaldinho Gaúcho is a phenomenon. I had the opportunity to play with him in the national team and he honored this shirt (that of Atlético Mineiro). He was champion of the Libertadores, a very important title," said Hulk in his first press conference with his new team.
The first Libertadores, with Ronnie
Ronaldinho, who has already left football, played for Atlético Mineiro between 2012 and 2014, a period in which he showed a high competitive level and culminated in the achievement, in 2013, of the first Copa Libertadores for the Belo Horizonte team.
At 34, the Hulk now intends to "build" his own history at the Albinegro club and inscribe his name among the great legends of the entity.
"Wherever I went I managed to be champion and here it will not be different. I know that Atlético has not been a Brazilian champion for some years. I want to fulfill everyone's wish and you can be sure that I will look for it together with my teammates" promised.
Where I went I got to be champion. It won't be any different here
The attacker signed a two-year contract with Mineiro, until the end of 2022, and will wear the number 7, after a long sporting career with teams in Europe and Asia, including Porto, Zenit and Shanghai.
He recognized that he had other more economically attractive proposals outside of Brazil, but that he opted for Mineiro for his sports project.
In this sense, he praised the work carried out by Sampaoli, another factor that influenced his decision to sign with the Belo Horizonte team, with which he will not be able to debut until the beginning of next season.
"I already had the opportunity to face Sampaoli a few times in the national team. Whenever we played against Chile it was very difficult, it was a team that was technically very well assembled," he explained.
"Sampaoli is an experienced coach and I'm sure I'm going to learn a lot from him. You can count on me because I'm going to give my best," he added.

However, the continuity of former Chile and Argentina coach at the helm of Atlético Mineiro is not guaranteed for the next season due to the alleged interest of Olympique de Marseille in taking over his services.
